A two storey side extension was added to the existing dwelling to create a larger entrance hall utility and downstairs WC, with focus on achieving much needed additional storage for the family, particularly to the entrance for shoes, coats and bags. We agreed integrated cabinetry would provide the most efficient use of space, which provide the opportunity to incorporate bench seating near the entrance door.  The WC was located directly adjacent to the new rear door for those coming and going from the garden.  A much needed third bedroom was included to the first floor, which also included workspace to one end, and larger bathroom which gave the opportunity for a wet area, rather than traditional shower enclosure.  The addition of a single storey projecting bay to the rear helped to maximise the usability of the lounge and enabled a better furniture layout.  Recessed nooks within the original external wall, now internal, provides additional storage and a wall recess for the tv within the kitchen and dining room.
